Secret Societies Question

Just a quick question for something I've never been clear on, and I figured I'd check on here before going through the trouble to experiment with it myself:

When playing in secret societies mode, if your Society's unique building (i.e. Gilded Vault or Alchemical Society) replaces the same standard building as your civ's UB (i.e. Grand Bazaar, Madrassa or Navigation School), do you get the benefits of both, or does the Society building just supercede the civ's UB?

The Society's unique building would replace the Civilizations unique building. Of course, you should always run Owls of Minerva with Portugal anyway so no need to replace the Navigation School.

Thanks! That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure before picking Owls for Ottomans (I generally like Owls or Hermetics, but the Grand Bazaar is too good to swap out entirely for the Gilded Vault, so Hermetics it is!)

Hermetic Order would be good with Magnificent Suleiman.

I'm playing as Muhteşem Suleiman, yeah. That was my thought as well, but Owls are so great (and easier to come by the invitation for) that it's hard for me to resist. Hence the question here.
