Sengoku questions

1) Before I start this question, I have upgraded units before, so I know the procedure. However, why can I not upgrade my Daimyo in Sengoku scenario? Is this a bug? I have researched the correct techs and have a barracks in the city, but it will not upgrade. If I hit Shift-U, it tells me there is not a single Shogun-1 that can be upgraded. This is really annoying. The upgrade button in the bottom middle of the screen is absent. Also, right clicking the Daimyo in the city screen does not bring up the usual "Upgrade" option.

2) Can War Council not be hurried with a leader in this scenario? This was going to be my strategy, but it does not appear to be possible now I have the leader ready to hurry it.

1) All of the upgrades to the Shogun also require Iron. If you don't have Iron connected, you can't upgrade.

2) In the Conquests expansion, MGLs can no longer be used to rush Great Wonders, though they can still rush Small Wonders, Palaces and Improvements. SGLs, a new type of great leader (Scientific Great Leaders) produced 3% of the time when you discover a Tech no one else has (5% for Scientific Civs), can rush Great Wonders, however.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that at least some of the Shogun upgrades don't require iron. Yep, I definitely have a Shogun-3 in my current game and I've never had iron. But upgrades are more expensive in C3C than before. I think the upgrade from Shogun-1 to Shogun-3 was about 100 gold. You won't see the option to upgrade unless you have enough cash.

i also have a question about sengoku

is it possible to get a leader from ronin or ninja?

I have almost $40,000.And I have all my resouces and a military units in the size of 1500 and with both types of nukes . I still have a knight that will not upgrade and a few spearman the sameway.
I cant understand why.

Cheiftess you are correct. You need the required amount of gold to upgrade the Shogun. Since it is a cumulative upgrade, this can be a fairly large amount. The game gives you no indication that this is the problem. All you get is no upgrade button or the message "We do not have a single Shogun-1 that can be upgraded". I needed something like 400 gold for the upgrade to shogun-6 to be available.

Dont you think the Yamabushi is a bit too good, I mean all you have to do is to get one within your enemys border and pillage and get to a mountain. It has everytjing except attack, but makes the game a bit weird. They should have had 1 move (since they have an explorer move)

I thought they were pretty good yeah, but I never really got to use them much, my Daimyo got killed. I suppose after a while though the Yamabushi could be killed pretty easily by more modern units..... probably.
