separate units for separate races

Does anyone know how to create nation-dependent units like in the ww1 scenario on the 'conflicts in civilization' add on? You know they have german, italian, turkish, russian, british and american versions of the infantry and cavalry.

This link is to advanced tech trees. Which are needed to have different units for different races. I'm working on a tech tree with 5 paths that cross and stuff. Not an easy task.

But if your just doing a scenario and not a MOD it doesn't really matter how the tech tree works out. So long as you assign the techs to the races and forbid stealing/tech from conquest you should be ok.
