"Session X Starts" after Retiring

After a few turns of a new game I saved and hit Alt + Q to retire my civlization. Scrolling through the time line I noticed a few curious lines:

"4000 B.C. Session 2 starts"

"4000 B.C. Session 3 starts"

"3900 B.C. Session 4 starts"

What are these mysterious sessions?

A session is anytime you load up a saved game. Your timeline would mean:

Session 1: Started up a new game. Play for an indeterminant number of turns.
Session 2: Load up the 4000BC save. Play for an indeterminant number of turns.
Session 3: Load up the 4000BC save. Play at least to 3900BC.
Session 4: Load up the 3900BC save. Play...

Were we able to see this info in Civ 3 (i.e. is this a new feature)?

I wonder if loaded games will be a consideration for future HoF games....
