Okay, were currently not researching at all, but I would still like to get a queue set up. We only have Engineering researched currently (inside of the Middle Ages).

Our current queue is:
Feudalism
Monotheism
Chivarly

Should we expand on this? Change it completely?

If were going to keep it, I recommend we swap Monotheism and Feudalism. Research Mono first.

However, I would prefer if we scrap this queue completely and head straight for Economics using the following queue:

Monotheism
Theology
Education
Banking
Economics

--------------

Also, the Great Library isn't going to help us any. All of the current civilizations are 2-4 techs behind us. We can't wait for them to catch up, and then start researching for us.

You are not going to be able to reseach at any valuable rate until our nation better maximizes its gold. We will hit negative gpt at around 40% science IIRC.

I would keep our current queue - Economics does nothing for us - Adam Smith's when you only have 5 cities is ridiculous, it is a waste of shields.

I'm not yet sure about whether to continue at 0% or self research, but I'm leaning towards keeping it at 0% at least until Education so we can build up our gold reserves to rush improvements (and Universities!). With 30% luxury tax, we can't even go to 10% science without losing gold. We need marketplaces up to even start self research (sounds weird, but it's true).

I would certainly have no research until Persia and Germany enter the middle ages; there's a good chance one of them will get monotheism (France or Rome will research feudalism soon). However, if neither of them get it (and France and Rome haven't discovered several technologies), researching monotheism and chivalry (since people want to build Knights Templar) would be reasonable (we'd also get some money from selling them), since the AI will go for feudalism, engineering (they would usually go there before monotheism anyways, and now it's cheaper), invention, gunpowder, and then go for monotheism.

I really think we should research Chivalry, and it's place in the current queue is perfect. I think we should research Chivalry, because the people voted last term to build Knight's Templar in the Augean Stables. I would like to see that wonder built this term. For that, we need Chivalry.

Economics is definitley useless and a waste of time. I suggest Feudalism, then invention, monotheism and then chivilary.(sp?) If we get invention quickly we can build Leo's which would make upgrading hoplites(to muskets) and swords a breeze. Even though this would mean waiting a while till Knights Templar but with AI far behind us we wont need to risk anything.

We need Cathedrals or we will be stuck at 30% luxuries forever. At least, that was the plan. We don't need Feudalism as much because we have the Pike's equivalent in the Hoplite.

we do need cathedrals, but we need war soon or France and Rome will close in on our borders boxing us in, eventualy destroying us. Crusaders we greatly increase our offense, and longbows will be a cheap way to get high offensive capabilities. Leo's is also a great thing to have.

We need Feudalism for the Knight's Templar. Having Crusaders means we will make mincemeat of all enemies who stand in our way.
