I guess we should have thought of that a long time ago as well. Ah well. Guess the only way we'll see a proper loss is to hit enter 10 more times and then start surfing the other teams threads... (or go back and replay this entire game in on my own to see if my increased knowledge makes any difference)

But first ... on matter of spy. I think after warlords or 2.08 patch, spies can only be built in the city with scotland yard.

And as we all know, the Internet is a project, so there goes our grand plan. Also, the answer is no, settled specialist DOES NOT stay after capture (not very logical for them to do so in retrospect, even Albert Einstein flee to America). If it were any consolation, at least the Space Elevator is working.

Well, my mistake for giving him an outlet ... so I surrounded him such that his only available route is to step into our worker-protected city of Uppsala.

Meanwhile ... just for the sake of fun, I razed one Gandhi (we are supposed to teach Gandhi how to war, aren't we?):

And as to whether Uppsala worked ... nope. That terrified guy is still there, surrounded by out Mech Inf and MAs, dare not step into the empty city :crazyeye:

Finally, I am glad its over. I am pretty sure we finally won ourselves the wooden spoon.

What a ride.

While we were fighting an uphill battle against Mongolia, Brennus and Hannibal took the opportunity to runaway with techs. The most crucial and fun part was when we killed Hannibal and then later fight against Mehmed, and finally the big showdown against Brennus.

There are places where we can certainly improved (such as not giving up cities to Gandhi earlier, but our biggest blunder of all must be not realizing the Internet will not survive the change of hand.

Great 3 months of playing, I am disappointed with some VQ members disappearing without even a notice, but I am glad that at least two others sticked with me to the bitter end.

Congrats on your finish. Superspecialists and national wonders are destroyed at capture, Projetcs (Manhattan, Appolo, Inet) cannot be captured as they are assigned to civ, not city.
 
Well... its done. Phew.

I wonder if going to other team threads at this point will do anything beside make me pull out hair over some obvious ploy/strategy for the loss...

Re: super specialists...they don't transfer in Vanilla or Warlords, but they will stay after capture in BtS

Re: Internet...as it is a project, it is not based in any single city...once it is built, the civ that built it will always control it, even if the city that built it is later captured.
 
Its all a conspiracy I tells ya GreyFox. The mods, and admins, and other teams they all banned together to cloud our eyes to obvious facts....

yeah, that's the ticket!
 
In hindsight, I would like to say that we certainly pulled the space race win out of Brennus' teeth just in time.

From quick views of other team's threads - there's no wooden spoon in our future - we actually finished (no quitters) AND stayed alive instead of getting stomped on!
 
Well, only finished teams can claim The Spoon.
