Built the Dai Mao, Standard Ethanol, Mt Rushmore and Hollywood. Red Cross completes next turn, and Ulundi is building Three Gorges, finishes in 12 turns.
Our troops have just arrived outside Sparta, and are ready to attack. I choose to beeline for Athens, because after having reconned the Greece territory, I could not see any forces that can be used to attack us. He mostly have garrisoned troops.

Nobamba is focusing on a GA, Delhi on a GM. Keep an eye on Nobamba, I'd seen it switch to other setup than I set.

We should be capturing cities now, not razing as we need to boost our area and population for winning this game, so get capitulation after we take Athens.

Who next Boudicea or Charly? Probably whoever is less friendly with us.

I would be wary of declaring on Celts or HRE unless we really need to. If we declare on either we run serious risk of having to fight both as they are bosom buddies and have fought joint wars previously. If we can win diplo with their votes that would be easiest and fastest route. Im not sure of whether a vassal will auto vote for master at not so may or may not help to vassal Alex.
What were the voting numbers. I still think if we can capture majority of Greek cities we should have enough if we can get both Celtic and HRE votes. To do this we will need to convert to their religion Buddhism.
Also I dont much like our chances of getting remaining corps. Delhi will produce in 4 but is a lottery what we will get. Nobamba is currently about fifth in line for a Great Person and will at least be 25ish turns at current rate. We should look to improve health and connect nearby seafood to improve food in city to hire more specialists there.
Did we get recent General. Our current xp total is 29 we surely got more than that by taking two cities. If so what happened to him. I thought we were looking to promote a unit to enable us to build West Point.

We would have to switch civics as well as religion to get the votes and probably gift away some techs. Vassals are forced to vote for their masters unless they are the opponent (unlikely) or build the UN (not in this game).

Was Joao our opponent? As Mighty said, can we get an idea of how many votes everyone has? If Joao/Gandhi have too many, we can't win via diplo unless we attack Joao, in which case, HRE/Celtia will be our opponent and we can't win that way either!

We did not get a General during my turns. And I don't think we got more than 29 by taking the two cities, they didn't offer much resistance.

There were 8 XP as befoe your turnset as I checked the save and posted a comment.
Maybe a gg was born in cubbies turnset.

Before that we had one that was already sitting in a city and I converted him to a super medic.

Ok it must have been during Oz's then. I thought the plan was to get the top rifleman up to the level anyway or is that going to take too long?

Sorry for confusion I think I misread MC-reds post regarding 8xp. I took that as being we had only 8xp till next GG thus one was due. It seems that the Greeks have little resistance to offer then. It would seem that only option for west point then is to try to get a unit to 27xp the hard way.

Depends on who our opponent is and how many votes everyone has. If Joao isn't our opponent, then we probably lose his votes by switching religion. If he is our opponent but has (with Gandhi) too many votes, we can't win so no point changing. If he is the opponent and doesn't have enough votes to block us, then we should swap religion and civics (to celts and HRE fave civics).

Here's the diplo situation if we get HRE and celts would need to vassalize the greeks and be there.
Just have to be careful Jao doesn't attack or are we too powerful for him to contemplate this?

Here's the Great person situation.

I think we dial down carib as it doesn't have high odds for either and don't want it to pop.
Delhi will pop 40% chance GA or GMerchant.
Nbamba should go next as over 50% chance for merchant unless Delhi gets merchant in which case dial it down here.
Dial down yoda till we see what comes in delhi and crank up production of whatever we need if we get one or other at delhi. If we get neither switch to artist as high prob Nbamba will get the merchant.

I was thinking we starve Yoda in worst case and go Caste but that will give emanicpation problems. So we just do our best without caste. What do you guys think?

Also I think I will slow down Yasod a little as Nobamba should be next and then Yoda will be too fast for any other city with its NE.

How did Boudicca become sec general. Last post ref any voting was #308 from cubbies and that said we were sec gen. Can there be more than 2 competitors lik ein Civ III. I've never seen it but can it happen.
We need to be sure Pericles will vassal to us and not to any of the AI to guarnatee his vote watch out for this and vassal asap.

Still looks like Joao/Gandhi/Augustus still have enough of a block against us. Agree with Mighty, as soon as we capture all the Greek wonders, check every turn for capitulation.

Mighty - I think I got that backwards. I can't remember exactly now, but you're right, I think Boudica actually won the election. That's why I didn't ask what we should propose for a vote. Sorry about that.

Joao et al have currently 341 out of 1188 which is approx 28-29%. That should be enough for us. The key will be trying to ensure Joao has more than Boudica. We should try to broker peace in any war she is in. If needed after Greek war capturing Gandhi's last few cities on main continent will gain us some of his votes. We will have to regroup our forces to cover any attack from Joao though. Another tactic if needed would be to grant joao one or two cities if he is under pressure from Boudica for the vote. We should be able to capitulate Greeks this turnset the rest depends on when the next sec gen vote is. Whenver it is we should prepare to secure at least on of the votes from charlie and Boudicca to ensure we get the sec general position.
