We did get into the elephant stack, 1 unit unused. ;)

I am guessing that Victoria did whip an additional longbow? In my tests without an additional whipped defender we only got into the elephant stack once. Tests with an additional whipped defender got into the elephant stack more often than not.

Can't wait for official confirmation from the admins. I am very curious to see what has been discussed in the lurker thread, and how the other teams have progressed.

Interesting. More expensive than the longbow, and actually worse as a defender in this case since we were attacking entirely with mounted units so the anti-melee bonus was worse than an LB's inherent city defense bonus would have been. Silly AI. :lol:

And it already had a mace and an axe, so it wasn't like it was lacking in anti-melee units. :crazyeye:

I played your final turn last night. The winning save doesn't show up on the progress page. AlanH is busy in real life, so I need to wait for him to look at your final save. But I see in the log that you gifted Rome and razed Coventry.

OK, looked at the save for more detail. One turn's delay would allow us to bring an additional 13 knights to attack Victoria's last city.
How do you get 13? I could only count 7 or 9. (edit, 5 in galleons, 2 in Canterbury, and 2 on iron)

I will have to go back and recheck the save to recount. But there were the units in galleons (sail into Canterbury and then move the units), the units in Canterbury, and if I recall correctly there was a stack NW of the elephant trio. That stack could not reach Coventry due to the hill the elephants were on, but with an additional turn they could have.

Edit: Rechecked, and you are right. 9 additional knights. I must have double-counted one of the groups. :hammer2: Still enough to make waiting one turn pretty much a guarantee of taking Coventry. Fortunately we did not need them. :)

adrianj, Pollux has done a lot of great work summarizing. If you see my recent comments, there are a few things I am interested in determining for each team. So if you spot some info, maybe note it in the thread? :D

- When did each team first get a religion in one of their cities?
- When did each team realize that Astronomy was needed to reach the Taoist holy city?
