SGOTM 22 - Anti-TSR

Still not sure what to do with the GG. He's in Rome. That's so far away from our production cities without a military academy and far away from the Darius front. I guess I could attach him to one of our archers or a warrior near Rome and make a super 2:move: grenadier out of him...
Build a Mil Acad in Lali.

Yeah, I'm stopping after the Camu attack. Our northern units for Darius are ready to go. Our eastern units still need a few turns to heal, but that shouldn't be a reason to delay the DoW. He's in war mode anyway and OB with Sal would be nice.

If we steal Astro we'll be able to upgrade our galleys and transport more units. Put eps on Darius? Hm...except we won't have a city in which to upgrade them. :crazyeye:

I don't want to stop now, but I think I should. It is getting late here and we have a few things to discuss:

1. DoW Darius this turn?
2. Is there any way to get the GG to Lali faster?
2a. Send some cuirs towards Verlamion to meet our Tolosa stack there?
3. How to minimize galley losses near Nibru?
etc.

For 3. I'm thinking we could:

- Unload 5 non medic cuirs at Nibru-NW. Unload cannons from galley 5 and 6 into Nibru (from Nibru-W), galleys return to galley stack.
- Cannon on galley 4 and medic on galley 8.
- galleys 4 and 7 move into Nibru
- Upgrade praets and mace.
- That's 6 empty boats for Brennus to attack.
- Caravel (if it survives) and wounded galley should heal to full health

next turn:
- Medic on wounded galley (if there is one)
- Cannons board or join cuirs on their way to Vienne. Jump into galley whenever it is safe.

1. Yes. I think the east and west should finish around the same time now.
2. I'd probably go for an extra medic, since the game is almost over and this could save us a turn healing somewhere.
2. :crazyeye: Yes
3. Hide out in Nibru and unload everything. :p
Seriously. We could upgrade the remaining praets this turn, and just pummel everything with grens + cannons next turn. Vienne timescales are not critical (unlike when there were 20 units inside), so the units could just walk down there afterwards, and we already have enough for a slow bombardment there. Our main stack would take the southern route to Bibracte, after the galley stack and extra cuirs get Verlamion to open the roads a little.

P.S. Well done, this has been a great pair of wars so far!

EDIT: xpost. Yes, putting the cannons back on the boats is a good idea.
EDIT2: Definitely kill the wounded caravels this turn.

Yeah, you're probably right. Brennus' stack is not that scary.

Our galleys can't reach them. We don't have OB with Gilga. Our caravel can at least kill the one at 0.6 health.

11 Rifles, no losses! :goodjob:

Yea, a medic seems like it would have a better chance of saving us 1t.
Otherwise, we get ~15 hpt and that doesn't start for a few turns.

We should MM our cities to squeeze out some more units and sacrifice food. For example, Lali could workshop over the farms, fort, or even mine the deer. Especially if we put a MilAcademy there, but even if we don't.

Aksum could work cow+mine instead of fish+sheep to get a Cuir(2)...or probably better: work the cow instead of the mine to grow, then draft/whip.

You've probably got plans for those cities that I'm not seeing. But in case you haven't prepared for the final turns, we should take a closer look at what can be squeezed out....burning up some of our excess food, etc.

I agree. On second thought, a medic makes more sense. It's like building a whole stack a couple turns sooner and that stack is already at the front.
