    Played 10 turns, While the Roman citizenary approved of my plan, it seems Brennus and Gilgamesh had a plan of there own.
    Gilgamesh sent 2 stacks of troops against Rome. Rome defenders killed both stacks, but the kill ratio was only about 2 to 1 and we lost a general.
    Brennus has a stack that just entered Caput's Fat Cross.

    We managed to steal Feudalism, Civil Service, Metal Casting and Meditation without our spies being caught. Also, we learned Drama. We adopted Vassalage.
    In retrospect, I think Folket was correct and I should have adopted bureaucracy. Unfortunately I did not see his post until after I played.

    We can trade wine + 9 gpt to Hannibal for Ivory and can steal Riding.

    Should I play another 10 turns or does someone else want to take over?

    Our situation is looking sad. All I can say is put 1/2 woodman 2 praetorian SSSW of Rome to trap units SSW of Rome where we can have a killing field. We need to keep our army SW of Rome to enable a recapture of Cumae.

    We are almost at our nadir.
    Hadrian's Wall failed to stop the Celts from reaching the gates of Caput Mundi.
    All that is left to defend Caput is a badly wounded Catapult, and a badly wounded Praetorian general. A legion of Spearmen will be formed before the next sunrise.
    However, the Celts smell blood and, though their troops are wounded I fear they will attack.
    If the Celts attack at sunrise we are doomed.



    Question to make sure I understand the game mechanics: If, when I hit enter, the Celts capture Caput Mundi we will have lost the game because our Capital has been relocated. At that point do I save the game and upload it and check the box about a defeat?

    If we lose Caput Mundi, I would simply upload the save, not checking the defeat block, and note it in this thread. They will pick up the save to verify and, well, that'll be the ball game. :cry:

There is no reason to drag ourselves through the mud if we lost the game already. It is after all is not real life. That is worth as many dragging as needed through the mud.     Even with a peace treaty, there is nothing to stop the Celts from declaring war after 10 turns and we would still have an on going war with Gilgamesh.
