SGOTM8 - Own

You are supposed to upload the save from turn after winning (select that you want to play a few more turns, and then save at first opportunity)

Grats on finishing btw :)

Well done guys I had a suspicion that you might come very close to our win date, but not that close! Looks like we'll be joint third unless Team Tim pulls something magical out of the bag.

Congrats, first round is on me! :D

Sorry 'bout the wrong upload. :( I never played into 1370AD except to get the victory screen. So I loaded my autosave from 1365AD, pressed the space bar and saved a game according to the proper rules.

The result of that is now up on the results page.

You need to continue after the victory screen until it asks you do you want to stop or play one more turn. Select option to play one more turn. Then save game (will now be in following year) and upload to submissions checking off that you are uploading the turn after victory.

Edit PS this save will not appear in progress - it remains hidden to provide other teams still playing with confusion about our finising date

@ chunky
Looks like you pipped us by one turn :( Congrats :goodjob:
BTW I dont think Team Tim can challenge - they are 2 turns from steam in 1150AD (over 300 years later than we discovered it), leaving you with 3rd and us with 4th - very credible results in view of some of the illustrious company in other teams.
 all round

And it's all the more impressive considering our early screw-ups with the Republic Slingshot and the not revolting. That cost us probably 15 turns worth of research.

Nice finish, Abegweit! :goodjob:

My apologies to all for the confusion about the end date. For some reason (read  ), I posted a save game from the beginning of 1365AD and this has caused a fair mixup about our finish date.

At the beginning of 1365 we had 10 infantry and a massive number of bombers ready to take out the last Roman city. Caesarea was a size one on an island. You can see this if you open the 1365 save, which is still the one that the server points to. The city fell, of course. I then played on and posted the victory screen shot from the beginning of 1370.

However I was supposed to submit a save from AFTER that shot, not before. So... I took my autosave from the end of 1365 and hit the space bar. Per the rules, I saved the game at the first opportunity thereafter and posted it to the server.

In short, we finished in 1370. Thanks to everyone on the team for a good game. :goodjob:

But we had a magnificent science farm going. :goodjob: everyone for that.

Yes, I'm going to have to integrate science farms more into my regular play, and hopefully they'll be as useful in Civ IV!
