edit: looking thru the spoilers, looks like we have fastest finish in hand against all but Team Klarus.

Summary:
Peanuts: 1150AD -> Researching Combustion
Tao: 1150AD -> Researching Combustion
Chunky, Ivan. CDZ already past 1200AD
Durkz: 450AD -> Chemistry (we were researching ToG)
Jefflammer: 600AD -> Steam (7T) (we were researching Med's (1T, and then traded it for Steam)
Klarus: 1050AD -> Just finished ElectronicsAtomic Theory. Should have Advanced flight by 1170AD

It has been a quite boring and slow show so far...
I wish team Klarius speeded it up a little.

We can still hold out hope against team klarius. Never know what might happen in the last few turns.

Klarius is at 1050ad, only 2 techs from advanced flight, which is therefore due in 1130, 1140 at worse. They have only very weak AI opposition to beat. Short of them forgetting how to play civ (not likely), or asking one of us to play for them , I can't see how they can lose.

Edit: I just spotted that this was my 1001st post. I must have missed number 1000.

btw, my post above is wrong. they just finished Atomic Theory, not Electronics, so 3 techs (electronics, MT, and AF) still to go.

Still, it is very unlikely they will not beat us.

AF in 1170. Reading from their posts, it seems they do not understand to build AF units in 1170.
If they build paratroopers, they will be ready in 1180 and they will drop in 1180 to attack in 1190.
If they use choppers, they lose a turn to movement and will attack in 1200.

They will use troopers. We will lose by a turn.

I hope you guys are in for revenge.

Me too!!!!!!! And next game we should play on Klarious results for a change. I am getting tired of them adjusting to our games... As Dman so aptly put it, nothing comes even close to what happened back in SGOTM3 but I would like us to keep a slower pace next time, at least slower than Klarious team...

Excellent game guys! Very interesting read as well.
You were really unlucky with the Republic slingshot.
I am impressed with the calculation of the FP, something I will remember for future games. The location was great, it only took you too long to build it (rushing a courthouse before starting the FP would have been quicker).

I think we should first see if team Klarius is gonna play next one now with civ4 comming.
If they move to civ4, maybe we could do so as well and ask them to keep the same team for civ4. Then we can have our revenge in there. If you guys are gonna buy civ4 that is.

I believe next SGOTM will be Civ3 version. That what AlanH mentioned.
I reckon it will take few months before SGOTMv.4 should start at all...
With all the new exploits to learn and ban it will take a while until competition becomes more or less fair.

as for the team... I was under impession that Offa was willing to join again.
Not sure about G-Man and Xevious though, but hope they will play.
