I have always noticed that the city with some middle age wonder (shakespeare) has grown beyond size 12 without a hospital anyone else notice this   :hmm:

This question is a classic. In C3C, Shakespeare's Theater allows cities to grow beyond size 12 before hospitals.

You may now feel like a n00b. ;)

Good for 20K, though.

It is now worth building, however there might be a price. Though this wonder can exceed more than size 12, there's a higher chance that pollution would generate in random if the city size is way larger, but it's not really a big deal as long as we have some workers stationed near the city with Shakepreare's theatre even if we were in Democracy(worker rate 150%)

Note: It is a must in OCCs, unless you are one of those people that try to conquer the world with one city before pikes. :crazyeye:

IIRC, you need three optional techs to get to Shakes. These are end-of-medieval techs too at a time when you can get Military Tradition or Mangnetism or get a jump on Steam Power. No thanks, Mr. Shakespeare.

I find I often grab Printing Press, though. It usually serves as a good tech to finally get me into tech game for the end of the MA. In fact, I beeline for it; the AI generally gets a least up to Edu., Chiv., and Gun. before researching PP.

You may need three, but as Free Artistry is a Wonder Tech, and Demo a Gov't Tech, I can usually trade these for any techs the AI may get ahead of me with.

I usually research only Democracy, and never go up to Free Artistry. Because by the time I could have gotten to Free Art, I can get Steam Power or Industrial revolution. Those are just too important to be delayed.

I like to get Shakespears in my high production city. Then this city usually goes for ToE, US & (If possible) HD. Getting that early production jump, and then buying the techs from the AI, usually works out for me.

I'll often pass on Democracy as well, I''m a 'switch to republic and stay there' sort of player. Democracy can be picked up in trading during the IA.

Printing Press, though, is very useful to get first if you have contacts to sell.

I can't see why/how you would produce both ToE and HD in one city. One city should prebuild HD while another completes ToE.

In your games, maybe. But I play mine differently. :)

I did that once. :mischief:

I was lucky to have ivory.

Whats free artistry? Is that that tech up on the top of the screen that stops you from getting future techs late in the game?
