I read it several years ago and I remember being surprised at how abruptly it ended. I even thought my book might have been missing a page or something.

Yes. The ending is really not well-done at all.

Ooh. Now, what's this I hear about Greece? They've decided to hold a referendum, but with absolutely no idea what the question they'll ask in it is. I thought that was kind of neat. I wonder if it's true. I'd really like it to be true.

The question is whether one approves the deal the noble eurozone gang offers, or if he/she/ze/hen instead want to say 'sod off' to the cartel of those 16 eurozoning officials.
