Ships and Settlers

I've run out of land on my current continent.

Is there a ship I can build that will transport a settler to cross the ocean with? I've built a destroyer and some smaller ships, but the settler won't go on the ships I've built.

Galley/Galleon/Transport/A hat made out of noodles and cork
Since you have destroyers, you should also be able to build transports, and those can hold units.

And if you're playing as Portugal, your special unit the Carrack can carry settlers as well, which gives Joao II a pretty nice advantage on island-heavy maps.
