Shogun won't upgrade

socralynnek: Yes, I am in a city with barracks. I have Sun Tzu's Art of War. Pressing U does nothing. Pressing Shift U gives the message that not a single Shogun-1 can be upgraded.

ummmmm: Thanks, that's more or less what I did a couple of days ago. Problem solved. I just think it's a flaw in the game that the appearance of the upgrade button depends on how much gold you have. The hurry production button doesn't disappear in monarchy or democracy when you have too little gold. Seems odd that the upgrade button would behave that way.

Glad the problem is solved. Remember the upgrade button is a unit action button, not a city screen button, and all unit action buttons do disappear if they cannot be performed. The fact that this thread shows up so frequently is evidence that the way it works now is confusing, but it is not inconsistent.
