It might seem weird that I am posting this on the Civ V boards, but I downloaded the demo and didn't like it very much. It seems like it just consisted of waiting for your next buildings to build and moving your combat units around. The 1UPT wasn't nearly as awesome as I thought it would be, and is only a small improvement. There really wasn't much micromanagement or deepness that I expected from the legendary Civ series.
Ok, so I own a physical copy a Civ IV but I have hardly played it. I only know how the basic mechanics worth, but I'm wondering if it's worth getting to know the complicated details the game is so famous for. Should I give that a chance instead of Civ V? Also I heard that without the expansions it isn't very good. Is this true?
I will amp up the difficulty play a few more games in the CiV demo before I totally give up on it, though.
