Should LGBT themes be discused in sexual education class for children?

I must add that most universities here in Brazil are free, and so a schoolarship is actualy a salary the government will pay for lgbt students. The government already provide schoolarships for the poor or afrodecendents.

What do you mean by 'homosexual sex'?

ie, specifically what content are you eager to see left untaught?

It is unnecessary to teach about same sex fornication

Aren't a huge number of people in Brazil of African descent? Do they provide scholarships for all of them?

Don't you think kids should at least be warned of the dangers of waving a $20 around in a park or tapping their toes in a publc restroom?

Young kids? Absolutely not. Let the parents deal with it. Isnt that part of the point of parenting?

What do you envisage such teaching would actually entail? Do you mean that sex acts commonly practised by homosexuals should not be discussed, or that the possibility of members of the same sex engaging in sexual activity should not be discussed? The former strikes me as essential in any sex ed programme, the latter as something best left to a sociology class.

I don't see the gender or sexuality of students as being particularly relevant to sex education classes. What students need to know is how best to avoid dangers associated with the various common kinds of sexual interaction.

Why should society trust parents who want to teach abstinence-only sex education to anybody, much less everybody? If parents actually did a proper job educating their children in this regard there would be no need for the schools to do so. Instead, they merely reinforce their own lack of proper sexual education which is so prevalent in this country.

When I was at school, we learnt how to put condoms on cucumbers, watched dodgy videos from the 80s about naked people's parts and lots of ghoulish details about STDs. Actually plugging a woman never came into the equation. Of course, all being teenagers, we giggled incessantly, so I'm not sure if any of it actually stayed in.

It's been put as high as 37%, so 10% is hardly a high count...

Immature punks who need to be disciplined should be disciplined

Yes, but simply disciplining "immature punks" doesn't cause acceptance in society. In fact, it would probably just increase resentment.

I agree for young kids, but once a child reaches late middle or early high school, they should have sexual education.

Yes. Kids should be taught about sex, and how to engage in it with protection if they so choose.

Kids should also be taught that being gay is not abnormal or bad. I remember one of my Christian fundie teachers doing a sex ed class when I was in 6th grade and talking a lot of smack about gay people, saying something about how their sexual lifestyle wasn't "physically correct".

The state and schools have no business determining if one sexuality is good, better, worse, normal, abnormal or even equal to another. Especially to kids as young as 13 years old. General sex ed, sure, but furthering the social experiment further than that simply is not what school is for.

Schools shouldn't encourage kids to treat their fellow individuals with respect if it might vaguely offend someone?

Generally, sure. Specifically, nope. Also, consider your target audience. An authority figure doing that for a specific demograph could be simply making said demograph a target by drawing more attention to it. Puberty age kids and young teens are notorious for being rebellious. I'm not entirely satisfied that this would have the effect that people initially think it would.
