Is there some advantage to marshes that I've missed? Why would we want to create them?

Planting forests is definitely something I'd like to see. I'd rather that clearing them wasn't permanent.

Actually, underground tunnels would be a really cool feature. Units passing through them should be invisible to the enemy and be able to move underneath other units. The units could only access the tunnel by paasing through the entrance, and a pillaged entrance would make your units stuck.

Marshes not only give +1 gold (-1 food) but they slow down the enemy for your artillery to rain death upon them. I think Gandhi would love marshes. Think of them as moats.

Invisible units being stuck doesn't sound like much fun though.

I could see having someone pillage the entrance of exit of the tunnel causing your units to be kicked back out to where they started.

A really fun application of this idea would be to allow players to create "chunnels" :)
