Hello everyone. I need some help here.

I am playing as China and changed my govt. to republic, I had maintained 600 gold now I am with 100 gold (-15 per turn). Corruption is taking 21 gold. Is there anyway to reduce corruption?

I cann't maintained my gold stock. Can someone please give me some tips to keep increasing gold. I just saw overlag's map....it was amazing, I can only dream for that, he is having 10000 approx. gold (+501)...........How can I do this?

I really do need some tips.

Thanks in advance.

FP, courthouses, and police stations will help reduce corruption, therby increasing gold. 21 gold lost to corruption isn't much though.

If I had to guess with the limited info you've provided, I would say that the unit costs are what's killing you. Any units above the free units allowed cost you 2 gpt. What does it say on the F3 screen?

Wehenever you ask a question, try to provide as much pertinent info as possible.

HTH.

Edit: Of course you also want plenty of markets and banks, but I think that goes w/o saying .....

I am not a big fan of republic for the cash flow reasons you mentioned. To make it really work for you, you need to:
1) Reduce your military. You can even eliminate garrisons in interior "safe" cities, because under republic those units don't make citizens content or quell revolt. It's a good time to disband obsolete military units- they cost you more than they're worth.
2) Build marketplaces and banks
3) Put roads in every square your citizens are working

Hope this helps. Other Civvers please jump in here.

Thanks SesnOfWthr & Pook, I have market place in couple of cities, 1 or 2 courthouse and road in every square, My unit cost is 29 only, My science budget is 71. What need to discover to build Police station ? I dont' get choice to build that so I assume I need to discover something....
