I started having problems with Civ IV, Virtual Memory running out etc, so I got the latest patch which was meant to relieve these problems. During loading of the patch I have had an error message and when I load a saved game a window appears with the message "showTechSplash".
Does anyone know what is happening here? Everytime I install the patch I get an error message, "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Sid Meier's Civilization 4. The Windows Installer cannot continue". When I check Civ 4 tells me it is now at version 1.52. But then comes the problem loading the saved game!!!!
