There was a special Sid Meier interview conducted by Computer Gaming World's George Jones on the first day of E3 2001 (May 17). However, Stratos Group seems to be the only gaming site that has posted a summary of this conference. The 'interview' was very informal, and basically consisted of the audience and George Jones asking Sid Meier several questions regarding his past and present works. Topics raised in the interview included the 'god aspect' of games like Sim City, the addition of "Sid Meier" to his game titles, when to kill a game (ie. Dinosaurs), and game design issues. The article closes by saying:
After hearing Sid Meier speak in person, it becomes readily apparent that he is (probably) a control freak. However, this is a good thing for his games, because it also becomes readily apparent that Meier is amazingly well informed on game design issues.
