Single player game

I don't know, how others are with it,
but I play exclusively single player games with Civ 3,
this is what I have the time, chance to...

So, I do hope that for Civ 4 Firaxis takes
single player game important...

...and not something that comes second after multiplayer...

When recently asked how the designers know which features work and which don't one of them said that they play SP games a lot. They have been telling about the busy MP testing to comfort those that have been dissapointed by the multiplayer aspects of the previous games, but I'm sure the single player games have been at least as frequent.

And now it comes to mind that Soren says he's working a lot on the Ai,
and well, AI is mainly for SP games...

I really doubt that they will take one part more seriously than the other, and therefore leaving the other part (which in this case, is SP) less balanced.

They take both just as seriously IMO.

Soren, the lead designer, was the AI guy for Civ3. AI guy = neck deep in single player.

It's inconceivable that they put the AI guy in charge and he comes out with a bad SP game. "That ain't happening."

I wouldn't worry about it.

They talk a lot about multiplayer because is a new feature of the game. It is something new that could be appetizing for potential new customers, but I think that the game is going to be great also for single players.

I also like to play alone. I am talking about the game, don't think i was referring to other "stuff".

I don't think the SP aspect will be neglected. I love to play MP when I get the chance but I've played less then 5 MP games and dozens of SP games. I feel most players will have similar ratios. Its too hard to set up MP games vs SP games.

single player is the heart of the game. if they were not going to work on it then they wouldn't have bothered to rewrite the code from the ground up.

I have played multi player in civ 3 and it dosent work. I hope they fix that but still have just as good of a single player. If I had to chose I would chose single player personaly
