Recently, I saw the show "6 Degrees to Francis Bacon". It gave you an event in history, and you had had to connect it, through four other events, to that later event. I thought it might be fun to do that here, in the forums. The subjects can be history or common knowledge (or both, if you want).
Here we go:

(Mathematical) Space->?->?->?->?->Egypt's Tourism Industry

Without (Mathematical) Space, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

Hint #1: Think of Geometry
Hint #2: Start out working backwards

Winner gets to make the next one, and also gets...umm...an e-cookie.

Enjoy :)

Without space, things would get awfully crowded.

Without mathematical space, you don't have three dimensions
Without three dimensions you don't have three mutually perpendicular directions.
Without three mutually perpendicular directions, you don't have north/south, east/west up/down
Without those you don't build pyramids
Without pyramids, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

Without (Mathematical) Space, you couldn't have geometry.
Without geometry, you couldn't have measurements.
Without measurements, you couldn't have cut and dressed stone.
Without stone, you couldn't have masonry.
Without masonry, you couldn't have pyramids.
Without pyramids, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

That's either 5 degrees, or Five degrees and one seperate degree. I like the math humor though :goodjob:

North King, close: but there were measurements developed before Geometry was developed. They figured out a way to have measurements before they had Geometry. I like the logic; great job to both of you. Here are two more parts...one, because you guys figured it out, and one because I want to get you on the right track...

Without (Mathematical) Space, you couldn't have a point.
Without two points, you couldn't have a line.
Without two lines, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have the Pyramids.
Without the Pyramids, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

Good Luck :goodjob:

Without (Mathematical) Space, you couldn't have a point.
Without two points, you couldn't have a line.
Without two lines, you couldn't have a plane.
Without a plane, you couldn't have a triangle.
Without four triangles, you couldn't have the Pyramids.
Without the Pyramids, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

??

No, because then one could just say:

Without (Mathematical) Space, you couldn't have solid geometry.
Without solid geometry, you couldn't have the Pyramids.
Without the Pyramids, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

Trying to think a bit out of the box

Without Space, you couldn't have Space flight.
Without Space flight, you couldn't have Space ships.
Without Space shipsyou couldn't have Goa'uld mother ships
Without Goa'uld mother ships, you couldn't have pyramidal landing plateform.
Without pyramidal landing plateform, you couldn't have pyramids in Egypt.
Without pyramids in Egypt, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.
Anyway, it's not logically completly true, as Egypt could have had a tourism industry, for people in love of sands for instance.

So here is another solution
Without Space, you couldn't have coordinate systems.
Without coordinate systems, you couldn't have a 3rd dimension.
Without a 3rd dimension, you couldn't have flight
Without flight ships, you couldn't have aircrafts.
Without aircraft, you couldn't have commercial flights.
Without commercial flights, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

This assume the vast majority of tourists are going in Egypt by plane.

The bold is wrong. Very close, but three points actually determine a plane. Plane isn't the answer, though.

***EDIT***
He is actually right. That one was my fault...:/

And Steph: I love the "out-of-the-box" thinking! Too bad its wrong...but you get an e-cookie anyways ;)

Two intersecting or parallel lines do determine a plane.
Yeah...I never pay attention in geometry class. PBoily wins. His turn now.

Without (Mathematical) Space, you couldn't have a decent topology textbook.
Without a decent topology textbook, you couldn't have fallen unto such a deep deep sleep.
Without having fallen unto such a deep deep sleep, you couldn't have woke up refreshed.
Without waking up refreshed, you couldn't have driven a car in a safe and effective manner.
Without being able to drive a car in a safe and effective manner, you couldn't have reliable transportation networks.
Without reliable transportation networks, Egypt wouldn't have a tourism industry.

Walls->?->?->?->?->Andre Miller's views on the American Dream

Without walls, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you couldn't have _____.
Without _____, you wouldn't know Andre Miller's views on the American Dream

Hint #1: Find out/remember why Andre Miller is famous

Cripes, these are hard to make... Good luck!

Andre Miller, the Denver Nugget's pointguard?

Andre Miller, the playwright.
What? I googled and Wiki'd him (her?), and couldn't find a single thing about him (her?). All I could find was Arthur Miller.

this is why I suck

It is indeed Arthur Miller. But I wonder if you could get a streak going for Andre Miller, the pro-baller.

It's a long, long shot, but here ya go. All made up off the top of my head ;)

Without walls, you couldn't have a formidable defense.
Without a formidable defense, you couldn't have a way to protect yourself.
Without a way to protect yourself, you couldn't have been able to live for longer than a few years.
Without being able to live for more than a few years, you couldn't have been able to reproduce.
Without reproduction, you couldn't have Arthur Miller or anyone else in his ancestry.
Without Arthur Miller or anyone else in his ancestry, you wouldn't know Andre Miller's views on the American Dream

good enough for me. Besides, the answers from others are more interesting than my original idea... this is what I had dreamt up:

Without walls, you couldn't have a room
without rooms, you couldn't have a motel
without motels, you couldn't have traveling salesmen
without traveling salesmen, you couldn't have "The Death of a Salesman"
without "The Death of A Salesman", you couldn't have Willy Loman
Without Willy Loman, you couldn't have Arthur Miller's views on the American Dream

Although, in retrospect, it's hard to see how the presence of motels is necessary in order to have traveling salesmen.
