Sizing images in threads

I don't know where to look for the info, but is there a way to resize the dimensions of an image as it would appear in a post without changing its original dimensions?

I've tried to play with the IMG tag but to no avail. You know something like

I don't think BBCode supports that. HTML allows you to set it via attributes ( <img src="blah.jpg" width="300" height="500"> ) but I don't think there's an equivalant BBCode attribute.
