Skaven development thread

How about another Skaven only building "Warpstone Mine". Gives that city the benefits of having the Warpstone resource?

dunno, just an idea. I'm sure someone could think of something better.

I don't think you can have an improvement that provides a resource. if there was that would be a great idea :)

on another matter, i have found that the leader titles have a maximum 23 characters, including spaces. so 'representative of the council' (29 characters) is out, so is 'spokesrat of the council' (24)

these, however, are okay. which one do you think is the best?

* Council Representative
* Servant of the Council
* Council Spokesrat
* Emissary of the Council
* Envoy of the Council
* Agent of the Council

here are some graphics: a civpedia graphic for the tunnel and the airfield graphic.

unfortunately the graphics here don't look as good as in game (you'll just have to trust me ;))

After getting my ass nailed to the wall and banned I'm back, (hope I don't get banned for saying that).

What about this title for the Skaven leaderhead "High Skaven Spokesrat" 21 letters, anonymous, gives the impression of being mighty without using variants of the word supreme and it has my new favourite word "spokesrat" in it. By in the dialogue having the leaderhead, going on and on about the council, I'm pretty sure people will get the understand that he's just a messenger.

Nice looking hole

Sounds good. so we put "High Skaven Spokesrat" in the Leader Title and nothing in the leader name? or the other way around or what?

never had someone say my hole looks good before... ;)

Maybe CIV gets messed up if you leave stuff blank. Title: High Skaven, name:Spokesrat. Ought to do it.

:bump: wazapenin'?

nice to see you back, dr. zoidberg. nuthin's been happening since you 'took a little holiday' ;)

That's a nice way to put it since my ass is still hurting. :aargh:

About the airport: I think the chaos warp portal does act like an airport as it lets you teleport units to another city with a warp portal. Mind you there is no reason to create another building with the same ability.

The skavens also need a unique tech or techs maybe genetic engineering or warp engineering?

I disagree ... I think having an 'underway' for certain below ground dwellers is great for the flavour of the civ ...

and I agree with you disagreeing. They are suposed to be a menace because of them continously tunneling into others caverns/sewers. Allthough that isn't possible to simulate the tunnel teleportation is a good half-way measure. Is it possible to give them rebate when it commes to subversive stuff like terrorism and spying and what-not.

How's this for a very early skaven leaderhead preview... Just trying to get the look right before I add the rest of the council.

What's that? A nose? Looks stylish :thumbsup:

And about those rats with tunneling (=paradrop) ability: how about making just a single animation, where dirt starts flying from a point in the ground, scattering all over - and that's all. This animation could be used with all skavens, which have the tunneling ability (without requiring to make unique tunneling tunneling animation for each unit)?

Very sinister indeed. I'd check my wallet after a meeting with him. Looking good.

edit: don't rats have whiskers?
