Hi @konq I saw your review on my naval pillage mod, so its just not working at all? Did you include the mod midgame, or did you have it on from the start?

Also, does pillaging always not show up, or just sometimes? There seems to be another bug in the base game where the coastal pillage button only shows if you are on top of a pillagable tile.

If not, hmm, I might ask for your save file and possibly a file that gets generated when you start the game.

Hi @Smayo, thanks for checking in!
I enabled the mod in the middle of the game. I haven't tried a new game yet to see if it works when starting from the beginning of the age.
There's tons of naval units on and near pillage-able tiles but I couldn't get the pillage button to come back at any point. I finished the age with tons of opportunities to pillage with naval units and none of them could pillage.

I'll attach a save file where you can test. Which other file do you need?

Ah thanks, I’ll have a look!
The other one is a little harder to find but is useful so I can know what mods were on, and the exact state of your game. It should be at Logs/gameplay-copy.sqlite in the same folder where your Mods folder is and gets regenerated any time you load into a game. If you could load into the game, then send that file over.

If the file isn’t getting generated, you might need to mess around with the file AppOptions.txt . There should be a line in there saying
“; CopyDatabasesToDisk 0”

Remove the semi colon at the start and set the 0 to 1.

the naval pillage mod has the "affects saved games" flag set, which means that you can't add or remove it mid-game. if you enable the mod, the game will ignore it until you start a new game or cross an age transition, and once it's attached to a saved game you can't remove it.

Hi @beezany thanks for the details. So it sounds like nothing can enable it mid-game. Fair enough, I really appreciate the confirmation.

@Smayo in light of this I won't trouble you further with any other log files unless you still think its necessary. thanks again for the mod and your support!

there are ways to override the setting, but it wouldn't help in this case because the fix doesn't work retroactively, only if you install it before researching Shipbuilding II. (lots of game data changes are like that, which is why they set the flag. it keeps your game from ending up in a weird state.) if you leave the mod enabled, it should work on your next game, as long as you aren't in the Exploration age yet.
