Slow city screen

The Game plays fine for the most part, however when chooseing items to build and makeing a build list it is slow. The more cities I have the slower it is. If I have 1 city it can take 1-2 seconds for a selection to show up. So far I have only played on tiny maps so I have never had more than 10 cities. Once I pass like 7-8 cities it can take a minute to build a list of say 5-6 items to be built in a city. Is there a setting I can alter to make this a bit faster? Even in the late game turns rarely take more than 15-20 seconds to cycle. I do not have problems with speed when scrolling around the map, zoomed in or not. So the slowdown on my build menu makes a big difference to my game play and does'nt make much since to me. Any help you all can provide would be vey welcome.

when you do you get slowdown ? is it late game? eg circa 1600-1800's - are there any other symptoms (maybe slow saves of mins not seconds - slow game turns - slow time between games - choppy/horrible movies - increasing CTDs as you go into a late game etc etc)

EDIT: sorry could you post your Dxdiag ?
(Start button - click -choose run - type dxdiag - press enter - let it chunter away for a min - select "save all information" - then post here using the 'advance' button below)

Hmmm It will not let me add attachments? I click the "Manage Attachments" button and nothing happens. My permissions say I can add attachments. Well I will just add the first part of the file, if you need a section I have not posted let me know. O and there is only one other problem i can think of, There is no sound for my wonder movies. It could be because I have music turned off, however i have sound affects on. I had choppy wonder movies till I lowered some display settings. Really I am fortunate in that I have had very few problems. The slow down for my city screen does get worse and worse as the game progresses. By end game, 1900-2050, it getts to where i have to wait maybe 5 seconds for what I sellect to show up, and I can not just keep clicking to add as it will only put up the last item even though I am holding shift. And I dont have any CTD's. Thanks very much for your time and any help you can provide. Ok here is the first part of the DXDIAG.

{Edit} I have only played on Duel sized maps so far.
{Edit2} I only have one 3.2GigHz CPU, dont know why it says I have 2.?
