Smash/GenghisK 1-The Wrath of Kahn?

Hmmmm...thats a pretty good move.I must be have respect.I have seen very good things in your play at times. That makes you dangerous ;)

lol..I think you just invented a new term for annotators. The "least silly move"....maybe it could be recorded as 10....Na5!?!?

11.Qe2 c5

I was quite pleased with my effort vs anand.Unfortunately,he has never been seen again :(

I wish I was as confident in the outcome...I think I know what you mean though.I got the exact same feeling the last 2 times Julius Brenzaida crushed me over at Apolyton ..20 movers...argh!..actually the last loss was so bad my only goal after 6 or 7 moves was to make it to move 20!.....I did :)...then rezzed :(
I learned one should never take chances in this format :D

now the game.
another aggressive move!...although methinks perhaps a little premature?!...we shall see.

Same move for me, as you could guess

14...

Btw, I notice the games are pretty violent. When I watch the grandmasters games, they can last 30+ moves. Whereas when we play (maybe I should say I instead of we), e.g. my previous game with Stormerne, that was quite hard for me to survive until the 20th move... :( Anyway congrats, you've forced me to scatter my defence :)

well,GMs are on a slightly ;) different level. They are pros that dedicate countless hours to theory, openings, endgames, tactics, positional play ,blah blah blah. Many of them are prodigies.
This is a game is full of subtle stuff.Often you see a move that seems quite pointless.....but 15 moves down the line you see why it was made. They don't make as many mistakes and their opening book knowledge is such that they can rattle off 20-30 move openings(best move) with ease.
I havn't played any GMs,but I have played IMs and FIDE Masters.Their over the board play is stronger than my postal play. They see SO much.
Its depressing when you are struggling thru an opening, using an hour of your time and your opponent has used less than 5 minutes cuz they are booked up well beyond what you could ever hope for.

Now to the action:I have a threat!

10.Bf4 Na5

As I thought ;)

12.Rad1 f5
13.exf5 exf5
14.dxc5 Bxc5

Well done. I might loose a pawn if I don't take further risk...
Btw, that damn reply notification suck. I don't receive anymore email notification, after you made your move. So that explains why I'm now slower to reply. Not my fault, I can't check the forum each 5 mins, I think you won't blame me for that! :)

PS: I guess FIDE means, but if I'm not wrong it's a French acronym, isn't it?

You missed the threat!

Yes it is the governing body of international chess.Federation Internationale des Echecs

Right, but the most funny was that I saw that rook threatening my queen for a while, I was careful about that for a while, but I just forgot to look after "her" during one move. Only one move, and see what happened ;) Yeah chess is like Judo, one second not having attention and.... I once lost a Judo competition because I lost attention during 1 second... grr.

16 if you play Rxd8, then, it has to be Rxd8
and if you play again Qxc4+ then I'll move my king logically Kh8

maybe it depens on the order you'll play that. Anyway, I nearly completed my mission, i.e. surviving 20 moves against you :) Unless you mate me within 3 moves. Then, I'll see, maybe I'll resign, since it's quite useless going on, the game has become too unbalanced now. But well, I'll fight till the end :) Then maybe we can have another game.

I think.if anything, you are guilty of not taking enough time to look things over thoroughly.

Right. I lost attention because I was focusing on something else... Obviously I still can't focus on 2 different things, attack and defence. Yet. But anyway, I'm not willing to loose my rook now.

That smothered mating combo.I spose Philidor first played it or something. It is one of the tactics they use in teaching and puzzles.
