So are animations enabled for multiplayer yet?

Thank you for this thread. I rarely play an MP game (Work, family, time zones). I dropped into the MP forum just to see what was going on and ya'll may have helped me solve a problem. I want to be able to turn off unit animations in SP. Looking under the hood for a solution hasn't been very helpful so far. That the animations are turned off by default in MP gives me something new to investigate.

Go to advanced set up and it is one of the options that you can check.

I came to this forum looking for this post. This is really disappointing, I haven't touched the game since the second day after its release.

I told myself the game will get better after patches, but this isn't the case, especially for multiplayer. :/

I'll be back in a few more years to see where the game is. But I feel this project has been abandoned.

This no animation in MP killed it for me. I only play LAN at home and i have alienwares which i bought to play this game with the missus , cabled to the router, hence lagging is no issue for me at all.

It feels like playing a game in the 90s after getting use to the direct x 11 graphics in single player. Multiplayer is nowhere as rich as single player. I will check back in a few months if this animation has been added to MP.

I bought gaming laptops for the graphics. Without animation, it's boring, unless all you care about is winning!!!

Meanwhile, shogun 2, here i come ;)

Amen @ some of the recent posters in this thread.

So I just saw this new link for the first expansion which will apparently be released way after Civ 5 was: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/sid-meiers-civilization-v-gods-kings/1220350p1.html , and I have to ask yet again - are multiplayer animations in yet, or has anyone heard of them being enabled for the expansion?

On the official forums 2KGreg announced MP animations were coming in the near future. In another post he explained that MP animations were one of the benefits developed for the expansion (probably due to a new MP budget) and that's what's allowing them to also backport MP animations into Vanilla. So, I assume that MP animations will be available from the start in G&K and shortly after G&K they will release a Vanilla patch that backports a lot of the engine fixes from G&K (including animations).

HELL YES!! :D

Are we talking like, 2013 for this? Or should I be keeping an eye out in the next month or two?

Can't wait, I just hope it happens.
