I was just 10 turns away from finishing my last component. Damn, that's frustrating. I had two cities that were legendary, too, so I was close to winning on that. I'm tired of timed victories!!!!

Oh well, maybe next time......

If it can comfort you i was at 3 turns from a cultural victory, I had that ****ing Montezuma which declared war on me desembarking troops in my territory at 12 turns from my cultural victory.
I couldn't stop the invasion and that bastard razed my nearly legendary city.
I was playing at Marathon speed so you can imagine how much it hurts losing a game in this way!

I'm tired of timed victories!!!!

You can turn them off when setting up a custom game. I do that all the time, I don't want my games to end with a largely anticlimactic tallying of points.
