Just before I captured him. Then I realized that the was 100% resistant to my healing spells...

Any way to remove the plagued promotion? Currently I have him moping around in my capital instead of taking Doviello cities as intended...

I guess there isn't.. :s Perhaps you can remove the promotion in the world editor? How did you capture the red bastard? :)

My Beastmaster used the plague sword. You just need the 2nd animal capturing promotion.

Would the Pool of Tears help with this?

Pretty sure the Pool of Tears and Aquae Sucellus (sic) cure diseases and that for Magic Immune creatures.

Aquae Sucellus removes the disease promotion, but not the plague. Moving onto the tile of The Pool of Tears is the only vanilla FfH solution for removing the Plague from a magic immune unit (short of worldbuilder).

I will have to check the Doviello lands for Pool of Tears then. Thanks!

Hmmm, never thought of Acheron as an animal. I captured him in my current game as well. Stepanos spawned in my lands and I managed to kill him by swarming him with all the garrison troops from nearby cities. That was fairly early in the game and since then I've been using the Crown of Command to collect far more units (including Acheron) than I've had to produce on my own.

Acheron is not an animal, but a Beast. Subdue Animal is useless against him, while Subdue Beasts guarantees you'll capture instead of kill him (unless the unit is also hidden nationality).

You could also just acquire life mana which will randomly cure diseases and such. I’m pretty sure it cures the plague.
