Well, it's just past midnight and the first day of 2003 now. :) Clicked onto the mainpage and suddenly noticed a huge space of names above the PM box. Looked at it more closely - it was the box showing posters' birthdays today.

Is it likely to have so many more people than on average days to have their birthdays falling on Jan 1? :) I don't remember the birthdate being a required field when setting up a user account... so there's no need to fill it with something.

Seems unreal to me, so many more posters born on Jan 1. Compared with any other day...

I thought the same thing! Its not Jan 1 here in NY yet, but I was looking through the calendar, and I was shocked. I'm wondering, when you set up an account, does the date start default on Jan 1? If so, that could explain it: some people just click too fast. Or maybe some people do it just because...like how I've seen some 100 year old profiles...:ack:

Well it seems a very common birthday around here. I can think of at least 5 people who I know personally that have that brithday.

No, the default is no birthdate at all.

Wow, I dont recognize any of those as posters! :crazyeye:

It could be a problem with the forum server. Remember AoA had his birthday on December 31 for some odd reason, when his real birthday was something else...

So many...

You posted that at 8 AM PST time. So you're living in somewhere in far east asia...(16 hours, an hour past Hong Kong)

What's that supposed to mean?

Probably some people only want to give their birth year but not the exact date, for reasons of security I guess.

That's probably it. I usually give January 1 as my b-day when I register on other sites. :)

My brother's b-day is today. :)

My uncle's and friend's baby's birthdays are tomorrow.. But, it could be "today" in someplace like Hawaii. :D

But even if you give the year, you don't have to give a date. Just like if you give a date, you don't have to give a year. And you can even just put a month or a day as your birthday! :D

Edit: Oops, I was wrong. You always have to have at least a date, with or without a year. So I guess you're probably right.

Heh, look at all the people that have their b-days there:

There's JohnAshcroft and michaelJackson, Iamaspammer, kidsway, and lionelhutz.

Not to nitpick, but Hawaii is the last people to reach tomorrow. So you mean New Zeland. :p

Nope, I think she had it right the first time: when it is her Uncle's birthday, 2/1, it will still be 1/1 in Hawaii...

Oh, I see. I misread what she said. :crazyeye:

Pah! I put my GENUINE birth date in my profile and I didnt see a single "Happy Birthday Rodgers" thread in OT, after seeing thousands of them last year.

If thats the level of appreciation I have around here you can all sod off! :(

*shuffles off looking over shoulder occasionally in vain hope of someone announcing a "surprise party for Rodgers thread" in OT*

:hmm: See here.

Although I don't remember seeing a "Thanks guys!" reply in that thread either - I guess you've ruined your chances of a repeat next year :D

That's the most uncalled for accusation I've ever seen. I'd put up the thread (together with for Richard III) at least 12 hours before the day (your time). :p

Check ainwood's link. :) Ain't my fault you didn't see it...
