So Steam radomly started to update directx9?

I just startet Civ 5 g&k and now it takes 28 steps to install directx9.. o_ô
I played before today and nothing happend.

Yeah, I got the same update the other day, even though I don't use DX9.

I'm pretty sure it was from the patch that went out. There was supposed to be one today, yes?

Happened to me yesterday. And got stuck on step 38.

I had civ minimized from the night before. when I opened my laptop this morning it crashed, then steam had 33 steps for me. Took about 20 minutes...

44 steps here and it did improve dx9 appearance

I guess something didn't go right.
Normally only the last DX-version is needed as it contains everything previous versions have. But in this case, I'm guessing, for some strange reason every iteration of DX9 of the last years were installed.

Maybe someone at Firaxis or Valve made a mistake in some config file?

I had the same thing where it did a 45-step DirectX reinstall or something. Now when I'm playing BNW, I get these weird graphical errors:

Are these related? I was playing G&K the day before with zero problems.

Yes I'm getting this now. Thought I'd play for an hour before I went out. 30 mins in and still updating.
