Alright, I have Civ5 installed on both my laptop and PC, and my laptop plays fine (well, a little slow, but its an older graphics card.)

On my PC, here's what the problem looks like:

DXDiag: attached

Civ version 1.0.1.221 playing in DirectX 10&11 mode.

I've had tearing in the past on my older computer, but each time I did, it was accompanied by massive slowdown and FPS coming to a near standstill. Besides the graphical problems, this is not the case here. The game plays fine as far as I can tell (100 turns). Its just really ugly hehe.

Thanks in advance for any feedback or ideas!

Your system is fine, it should be OK. Perhaps you have outdated drivers?

Also check if your system is not overheating, that sometimes causes graphic artifacts.

If the problem is still there, try playing on dx9 or lower your settings somewhat.

Probably a good idea to start with updating the video driver ;)

From personal experience I recommend mostly medium settings for a GTX 260 :(

I would also verify the local files through steam, and not just once. It has taken me up to 88 times to get things corrected. I have had a few of the graphical issues that have been brought up here and doing that has been my final solution. Every time a patch has been introduced, it messes up the files and even ruins current games.

Yep, updated the drivers, nothing else, and it plays perfectly now, not to mention beautifully! Thanks again! Off chance, has Rhye posted anything about ETA or spoilers outside of the website about when the Earth mod will be coming? I keep checking back there and besides a new screenshot or two, not a lot to get jazzed about. I loved it in Civ4 and I'm dying to get my hands on it for 5.
