some new screens

I don't think they implicitly say that defenders can't get XP for winning battles, just that they have to actually WIN the fight-and not merely retreat. Also, I think the importance of Civics choices, barracks and wonders in XP and promotions means that builders can still benefit from promotions almost as much as warmongers.

With the exception of the "Brave Sir Robin" promotion, of course.

And I never liked the mammoth units in Civ3, preferring the smaller multi units used in some mods. Also, visually it would look better if the units shrank and increased in size so they were about the same size on the screen. As you go down, the units would shrink(which would look cool) and as you go out they would fill out the square

An interesting concept, but wouldn't it be just as bad to see five micro-units fighting each other when zoomed right in? You want to see details when you pull in there, making everything shrink back kind of defeats the purpouse.

Do I smell an easter egg ? ;)

Nah, that's just a sandwich... Or is it?

"Bravely bold Sir Spearman, brought forth from camelot..."

As far as unit size goes, I don't the meat of the game will be played from a zoomed in view. The feature is just there so that we can take a closer look at things when needed. Most people will probably be playing from a moderate zoom level. Far enough to get a good picture on things, close enough so that simple details can be made out.

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
("No!")
Bravely ran away away.
("I didn't!")
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
("I never!")
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
("You're lying!")
****Bravely**** taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Robin!

:king:

I would think it would be nice if when zooming in the units would still increase in size, but not as much as the surroundings (buildings and landscape etc.). Hence you can see more of the action when zoomed in, but still don't have these giants standing guard over a city, partly obscuring the buildings.

on one of the many screen shots I see a shiny green resource in the bottom right corner of the screen........maybe uranium?

mongol conquors memphis, leaves it badly guarded and its cultural difference makes it leave its owner.. perhaps. notice the mediocre borders it has now and how it is isolated in comparison to mongolia.
it wont become barbarian - wouldnt make sense. either become a seperate nation or go back to egyptian.. maybe egypt is too far? maybe it was eliminated?

Perhaps Barbarians can once again take cities instead of just looting them?...

Well, we know that barbarians in Civ4 behave more like 'Minor nations', in that they have cities where they can build new units (and, I hope, other things too ;)!) So, based on that, I think its fair to assume that barbarians can capture the cities of other civs (and, again, hopefully build new cities too!)
