Note that "a few cents a month" does not refer to *you* owning the domain. Deals that are that cheap usually involve someone registering it for you and allowing you to use it. If you ever want to move it to yourself they tend to charge HUGE amounts (like $100). If you think you want a domain you should just pay the charge (about $10-$15/year).
