Today, I was playing hotseat with my brother. I was first player, so was unable to see enemy movements in my territory. On one turn, for no reason, the Scandinavians had declared war on me. I realize this is possible, and quickly patched it up with a treaty. Then, next turn, one of my towns was destroyed. I saw the culprit, a scandinavian horseman. The next turn, I dispatched an archer to kill it, but it had disappeared. I was on a fairly small island, with all the spaces in sight. There were no galleys, and I had the Great lighthouse, so it seemed unlikely that they had gone out to sea. I checked my diplomacy, but I was at peace still with the scandinavians. Is it possible this is a glitch? And even if, where did the horseman go?

There are a few possibilities. Maybe a barbarian found it and killed it. Also it could just be a bug. Anyway i don't know what else it could be. :hmm:

Welcome to CFC!! :)

maybe cities are razed at end of turn? i've razed cities in MP and it says in a pop-up 'city will be destroyed in 1 (sometimes 2) turn(s)', depending on whether end turn has been pressed. maybe the same applies to hotseat, my experience was in simultaneous turns

ummm........maube your friend used the nuke to destroy the horseman and the comp decided to raze the city?

Greekguy: I had every square except 2 under control, and those were very far away.
Shadow: One person has a horseman while another has a nuke? Besides, I'm the only one who knows the Scandinavians exist.
