Somnium discussion

That is a good one. I've had it where a player can't keep a card for more than half the game, but never never. One time my opponent couldn't draw until there were about 20 cards left, but then beat me horribly. I also found it amusing one time when the first 3 cards a rival drew were fools, followed by Death.

It's very nice, the cards are very well designed. But it's ruled mostly by chance.
In a RPG (I think Might and Magic VIII) there was a similar card game included as well, it was fun and distress, but more influence from the player was possible. So it needed more cleverness to win.

If this is the case in Somnium, I would add: perfect!
 
After loosing a game against Elohim I was informed that the relation with them went down by -1.

My comment was from before (the first?) patch fixed it. After Kael corrected 1 xml file Sto had given him but which he was stilling using an old version of, it worked fine. Now it sometimes has an effect and sometimes doesn't, since he decided (based on one of my posts) that different leaders should value Somnium skill differently (to Perpentach is is very important, while Basium finds the game silly.)
 
@ Sto: Sorry for the confusion and bad choice of words. I didn't mean i experienced it that the bals get more adjustment. I just wanted to give my support to magisters opinion. + Imo Kyleen and Perpy also should be the best players out there on each difficulties as much as it is possible (its a carnival after all and perpy can mindread.) So that you really have to earn that bonus and get hit hard if you don't.

Whilst I'd agree that a +2 modifier would actually be quite nice for Perp, I think Kyleen should be prone to a hissy fit where you risk a -1 modifier if you beat here ("You're a cheater!") and similarly if you lose, you may get +1 ("You're just like my Puppets!")

Not if she randomly went either way - maybe 20% of the time giving the opposite effect to what you'd expect.
 
You can't use it but it is pretty boring to play with human without any talking.

I will try to do something but can't promise a chat for Somium. This may requires a large amount of work and some other features are most urgent for the moment.

After some plays I find E Logos AI very weak. I know that he is assumed to be slow and prudent but you could as well make button "+1 with Elohim".
 
Not sure if there is a better place to post this, but if you draw a fool and the opponent has no cards, you get a message: "You can't take a card to Your Opponent." It should be "from" instead of "to".

This should be fixed with patch f. The Elohim are the most conservative players, so don't take so much risk. That can make them very easy to win depending on the draws. But if they have good draws, you can't beat them. Anyway i will add more choice for AI with the V2 of Somnium (probably in 0.34).

I will correct it with the V2. I'll post the text tags before the release of the V2, so someone can correct me before the release. This is probably the best solution.

I'd really like to know where to get the art- I'm playing a Fall From heaven D&D game and my players are begging to play Somnium. If I can find the individual pictures it should be too hard to make the cards myself...
 
The dds are in the art folder. But you should go to the FfH mod page and go to artist sites They are in the credits (rules button).

I noticed that in MP Somnium runs somewhat slower than normal, and you sometimes need to click few times to get card drawn of something.
