I wasn't sure if this should go in All Other Games or A&E, but with how directed it is towards the gamer community I'll assume Other Games.

After what's been 2-3 years, Eddie Lebron has finally released the long awaited Sonic fan film.

Now let's see my thoughts.

The modelling is pretty impressive considering these are amateurs. While it kind of clashes with the real life backgrounds, it's still pretty impressive given this movie was produced pretty much entirely on donated money and labor. If not for the fact it would have reduced the length even more, I think a purely CGI production probably could have looked even better (though I'm of the opinion if you're going to do CGI mixed with real life it better be with Avatar-level of blending or else it's best to do one or the other).

You can't really expect A-class acting, but some of the actors who lended their work here do their job surprisingly well. It's also kind of neat to see Jaleel White as Sonic again.

Nice little subplots, setting the stage for the very first game, while still adding some of its own original ideas to tie it all together.

It seems to be a love it or hate it film for most. Many critiques are over how the CGI doesn't work with the real life backgrounds, and I'm afraid I must concede that. There's also critiques on the CGI itself, but given how this is for fun I don't really think that's valid. There are also some really nitpicky critiques such as Sonic being fuzzy. But having gotten used to those in my last 10 or so years as a Sonic diehard I've learned to autocensor those in my thoughts.

Any thoughts? :)

The film is not for profit and is also only about 16 minutes long, so yes.

Hope you like it! :)

It was about as good as any Sonic product since the early 90's. That translating to mean not good at all.
