CivFanatics Scenario Design Forum, 20:45 CET
First (absolutely first) information about my newest scenario is released:
"Sons of Heracles"
I am already v e r y far with it ("rough" work, i.e. rules, scenario itself etc.) is completed, I now only have to do cosmetic work (i.e. graphics, text files like Game.txt etc.)
What is it about?
The rise of Sparta from 735 to 490 BC. The player will be engaged in the bloody Messenian Wars and will have to use clever diplomacy to establish something in shape of a "Pelopponesian League".
Among the new ideas: Spartan Hoplites and Phanangoi will have "settler" abilities, the player may choose himself wether he wants to use them. The idea is that these units cost food, and this represents the poor population of Sparta and the need for every single man (plus those units will be very expensive, so the player must think twice wether he really wants to waste them into a city: A single Phalanx costs 160 shields!).
There will be a tech tree for the player to research, but this will all be very hard because city and terrain production is verrrrry low. Trade is very rare, thus the player will be forced to decide for ONE path only ("Do I want Hoplites or Helots...?").
Status Quo is that there is not yet so very much else new stuff except for that what I have described above, but Expect this one to be original!
Anything else you want to know?
