The sounds thread is a great idea, however would it be possible for those posting sounds to put them in the proper format before uploading them? I don't have "windows sound recorder" and am an extreme novice in trying to add sounds to units. I read a previous post that said the format was "22,050 kHz, 16 bit mono, 43 kb/s" Some of the sound files I have downloaded are not in this format and obviously will not work in the game. I am trying to remedy this by downloading a trial version of sound forge and converting the files myself BUT it seems it would be simpler to just post them in the correct format so creative idiots like myself are good to go after they download the file. :(

Man zulu9812 has this awesome animation. You should see it. :p

I use sound recorder, if you are using windows, you should have it.

I have Windows 98 (4.10.1998) I'm guessing it must not have sound recorder in it. I looked in: start/programs/accessories/multimedia but it's nowhere to be found. I am working with sound forge and dont know how to convert the file completely. It's only obvious how to convert the 22050/16 bit, I don't know how to do the kb/s rate yet.

Ummm...I am using Win98 and it does has the sound recorder. You just need to go to your Windows directory and search for it. I do think there is any link to it in the start menu but I am 100% sure that there is one in Win98. ;)

And yes, zulu's new animated gif created by Kryten is great! :D

I know it's on win 98 because I used it to make sounds for my Civ II scenarios.

Everytime I post something I end up feeling stupid...but it's worth it. You guys are right, it was in a different spot. This will make things so much easier.

that's good. I hope this helps in making you feel stupider... but...... since zulu isn't anywhere to be found.....

Wrong Forum. ;) this is for completed units only. :)
