The 2S1 Gvozdika is a Soviet 122-mm self-propelled howitzer that resembles the PT-76 but is essentially a version of the MT-LB APC, mounting the 2A18 howitzer. "2S1" is its GRAU designation. Alternative Russian designation is SAU-122 but in the Russian Army it is commonly known as Gvozdika ("Carnation"). The 2S1 is fully amphibious with very little preparation, and once afloat is propelled by its tracks. A variety of wider tracks are also available to allow the 2S1 to operate in snow or swamp conditions. It is NBC protected and has infra-red night-vision capability. -Wikipedia

The 2S1 Gvozdika uses unique animations, please make sure you use the correct path in your XML. 8 different skins are included, for Algeria (Carthage), Ethiopia, Iraq (Babylon), Iraq (Sumer), Mongolia, Persia, Poland, and Russia. For whichever skin you decide to use, the file must be called, "2S1."

Poly Count: 830
Texture: 256x256

Glad you guys like 'em. Still not sure what I'm going to make next - but it'll definitely be a modern armor of some kind. Maybe the Challenger II, T-90, or Leopard 2A6.

Awsome work on the model :). It's time to incorporate those top quality models of "Goździk" and Mi-24 to Poland Mod. :)

I promised to do the challenger II... but i'm lost in modern warfare 2.. :crazyeye: If You do it I think it will come up sure better... I hope to see it!... :)
.... a question... Do You know, maybe, if in civ 5 we could use the same models and animations?

Noone know it yet from community (or can't talk about it if he works for 2K). Looking on the screenshots - I bet it'll be nifengine - Firaxis is using it since Pirates, so I don't think they'll change it now. So probably buildings would work without problems. For units - different shaders and animations could make problems to import (Like it's hard to use train in civ4 from this other sid game and vice versa). But mesh is stil a mesh , even if it won't be ifengine, new animations and settings and export and we have unit that works in civ5.

So we're in better place than in beginig of civ4 where ultra-high poly count models from civ3 were useles
