The thing I hate about the modern age is that by that time evryone has grown to powerful for war normaly its still possible to beat them but you stustain heavy caultys and it crippling your eccomny.I think making the maintanence costs lower for units would liven up the modern era.

Whats wrong with sustaining heavy casulaties and cripping with your economy in modern warfare? It isnt exactly unrealistic. If anything, the maintenance costs of modern units are too low. Unless of course you seriously believe an aircraft carrier should be cheaper to maintain than a regiment of spearmen?
