Special edition pre order

It nice to see Amazon finally get this out there but why, oh why, is the UK been left out of this?

Maybe its still in the pipeline. If anyone has any concrete info on this then please shout it out. I've been hoping to ask for this as a pre order for my birthday (so a selfless motivation then ).

It's been asked and answered in this thread (specifically this post). Basically Amazon UK told me that the different Amazon sites around the world operate independantly and they don't know if it comes to Amazon.UK. In that thread you will also find a list of all pre-order shops, including the shops that have the special edition. Amazon isn't the only one that sells the game ...

Thanks for the reply. It basically confirmed what I thought. Also looking at your (excelent) list I still can't see a Special Edition retailer in the UK. I'm picking out Amazon here as it is the most likely place that potential gift givers such as my parents or girlfriend will be familiar with and have confidence to use. Also as you point out oif it is brought through the link from CivFanatics it helps our beloved site.

This is not Amazons fault, it's 2K's. They recently withdrew the collectors edition of Mafia 2 from the UK without so much as a whisper to the community. Some, like myself have supported Illusion since the original Hidden and Dangerous, it's a shame loyalty doesn't work both ways.

So Im not a fan of steam, exclusive content on the download only, and I really wanted a boxed copy of a CE for this game.

Looks like I'm not going to be paying for it.

Can anyone from 2K tell us why the UK isnt getting the boxed CE?
