I have been playing this mod for sometime now, but have never used this. The pedia say it restores arcane energy, but you have to break it to cast spells. So my question is, what is it and how does it work...?
 
Let's an arcane unit cast again on the same turn. So if you have a Archmage with a spell staff, he can cast two spells on a turn, but lose the staff.

The amurite unique Mage unit starts with a spell staff.

Also, the Tier 3 Enchantment spell creates one for you (And you can cast it whenever you don't have one, basically letting you set up a double cast between each casting use).
 
So amurite wizards only can use the spell staff once unless there is a enchantment 3 archmage?

No, any arcane magic user with the promotion can sacrifice the promo to cast again in the same turn. Only an Enchantment 3 AM can make them (and for himself only) once the freebie is used. For non-Amurite mages, only when they become an Enchantment 3 AM can they cast and use the Spell Staff promo.
 
Ahh I see why ppl say this is over powered. Cast spell staff with a twin cast mage and get 4 fire balls that turn... Sounds like a feature to me =)

It was worse when Fire 3 was Meteor Swarm, you could get 4 casts of 3 meteors :lol: I don't care what you are, 12 meteors is going to kill you...
 
Are you sure, normal Wizards, and not archmages, right?
 
1 luon (1st hero, warrior -> axe -> luon)

1 (+) archmage (other heroes) with enchant3, mobility1, extension2, chaos 3
