SpiderBROS vs SpiderKOS

Let me tell you a story.

So, here you have Mr. Tolni, chilling in his room. Suddenly, spider paratroopers land on his arm. For no bloody reason.

And you know what? I didn't even scream.

I generally try to avoid killing spiders if I can help it. I do preemptively smush black widows before upending trash cans at work. That's about it though.

The problem is though if I don't kill em, how do I get rid of em? They just run away otherwise.

Or kill and flush.

I leave huntsmen and daddy longlegs alone, and really tiny ones, but anything bigger than about a centremetre is getting smushed.

My girlfriend get freaked out by huntsmen since once she had a huntsman drop onto her face at night, so in future I'll probably have to kill those too.

Spiders have an important role in the ecosystem. Get rid of WASPs for all I care, they have no purpose whatsoever.

We had plague-like levels of European wasps this summer. Couldn't have a bbq without getting swarmed by the little bastards. I would not complain one iota if all wasps were exterminated.

Spiders are cool, by and large I leave them alone unless it's a black or brown widow in a place where I might need to stick my hands. I'll even leave those ones alone though if they're outside and out of the way. Wasps can die in a fire though.

Also, for those advocating catch and release, don't bother. Most house spiders can't survive outside anyway, they'll usually either find a way back into the house or die of starvation. Might as well save them the trouble and just smash or flush them if you're gonna do that.

Yes! Today there was a tiny house spider crawling all over my ceiling. It made a fatal mistake of dropping down on a web. I grabbed it in a tissue, squidge, bin.

It was the same type that the one time I left it alone, it started multiplying, so nope, never again.

It is true that house spiders cant survive outdoors, so its no better putting them outside.
