Hello, I just reinstalled Civ III for old times sake, and started mesopotamia conquests.

First, some specs:

STEAM VERSION
Civ III complete
Windows 7 (dont know how many bits sorry)

Sometimes while playing, I can hear the music sputter. Kind of like in the old days, when a music cd was out of place or was scratched or something. Just random sputtering of black noise. Over time, the sputtering gets more and more frequent. Eventually, I assume the game simply crashes so I just exit the game and restart and it is good as new. (I noticed also when it sputters like this, it takes awhile to move around on the map and to interact with things)

The problem is, this morning when I turned on the game and loaded my save, it immediatly was sputtering. I restarted rebooted the game. Still sputtered right away. It is unplayable when it does this, the sound makes you want to throw up and it slows down moving around on the map i would say more than twice.

Any ideas what is causing the problem or a way to fix it? Is it a problem with the save file? A problem with memory? Hope I can get some help, I noticed I enjoy playing Civ III more than I do Civ V lol (I feel much more challenged thats for sure)
