DO NOT POST UNTIL I SAY U CAN

"Great empires will fall..."- Unknown

"I should have envied the man who said this, instead I hanged him. Instead I murdered him in fear that his words where right, I knew they were right, I just couldn't believe it."- The last words of the last Roman Emperor.

A sudden alliance of barbarian hordes has formed in northern europe. This great alliance consisted of the Germanic, Visigoths, and the Hun tribes. They had themselves determined to rid europe of the Roman Empire and spread thier power. One year later, on the same exact day, they invaded on numerous fronts. They killed many and burned many houses.

Survivors of this invasion grew tired of these raids and thier emperor's effort to repell it. Senators of each major province held a meeting of them alone. One year later, they revolted. They secretly got the attention and support of most of the Roman army and people. The last Roman emperor commited suicide with no hiers.

It is now 487CE, you have just gained control of your home city and the area around it as one of the former senators in charge of the revolt. Now you are the chief of your people, and they have faith that you will protect them at any cost. You have recently lost the contact of your former allies in the revolt for 50 years. It is up to you to bring your people from the harsh times of the Dark Ages.

Protect your people from the barbarian hordes of Germany, Huns, Astrigoths, and many other barbarian tribes. You have no intelligence of thier homeland or from where they might attack and when. You have been given 1000 legionaries of the last Roman Empire with thier equipment which may not last. This period will forever be known as the Dark Ages of Europe.

*Hint* Better times lay ahead of you if you survive through this period.

Ok, this is the first nes of this series and please read ALL the rules before joining even if you read them in the other thread.

stAmirNES: The Prophecy

Economy.png

Economy: Economy goes by gold coins. There are six ways to get gold coins. One way to get gold is Cities. More about cities will be explained later. Another way is Trade which may be the most profitable. Then is taxes. Then there is how much land you own. And the last part is conquering which may be the most least profitable though you will get loot from pillaging and salvaging. Those are the six ways to get gold and will be explained more later.

Taxes1.png

Taxes: A regular economy increase which takes the whole turn will be increasing taxes of your cities by levels, you start with a low tax law. This will increase the income for all the cities in your empire though will lower the loyalty. This must be the ONLY thing you increase in the turn.

Cities1.png

Cities: You start with one city, your capitol. Each city gives you a base amount of 0 to 10 gold, and varies depending on... Population (need people to pay taxes), hapiness (need to have that population happy to pay), technology (need to have those people smart to have a proffession) and other things. I will determine how much each city gains you. You may also build cities, though they cannot be densly located or else unhappiness occures and probably both cities will make no money. It costs 10 gold plus 5 gold for every other city under your control. So if you have 3 cities right now then it will cost (10+5+5+5=25 gold) 25 gold. I think thats it for cities.

Trade1.png

Trade: Trade will be done almost the same as former stJNES6 but with some differences. First you need a road to a trading post (for land trade) or a port with a sea link (for sea trade). You can build roads though will take time to build if it is far. You may build your own trading post as well. They cost 25 gold to construct in a certain place. You gain extra money when owning a trading post and when other nations send thier caravans to your post. If no one trades at your trading post then you will make VERY little money (ie. 1 or 2 gold because of nomads and stragglers). Ports also cost the same price as Trading Posts and have the same "extra gold" function. You can trade at other's trading posts or ports and still make money though not as much as owning the port or trading post. *you also need resources to trade!*

Land.png

Land: Simple, more land means more farmland means more profits. The more land you have the more gold per turn you get, though I will not show how much you get, u just have to trust me. Floods and random events can help or decrease the amount of money you get.

Pillaging.png

Looting: a less predictable way to get gold coins is by... When u invade cities you may salvage or look for loot. When you slavage you are looking for new weapons and when you look for loot you are looking for some gold in banks or rich palaces or houses. I will determine how much you get from loot or salvaging.

To Break it down for ya here is the cheat sheet for Gold:
-You can increase your gold amount by Increasing Taxes, Cities, Trade and Loot.
-Taxes take one whole turn to develop, cost nothing.
-Cities give 0-10 gold per turn. Cost 10 gold + 5 gold for every city in your possession.
-Trade is done through trading posts and ports. It costs 25 gold to build a trading post or a port. You need a road or a network of ships to connect nation with port or post.
-Loot is gained by pillaging cities.
-More territory to gain more money

Well that was the only long part of the rules, now time to breeze through the rest!

Expansion.png

Expansion: This will be done in a different manner. It will be more of a story/board game type of expansion. You start with one city and a couple of cities around you. You can either expand like story NES way or capture cities and raid them. So you can either go the peaceful way or warmonger way or even both! So that is how your borders are made.

Religion1.png

Religion: This does alot to the way enemy cities are loyal to you and how they may revolt. Crusades which will be explained later in the game will increase the loyalty from enemy religions and cities. Cities of the same religion may like your presence there better.

Population1.png

Population: As wanted this will greatly effect your empire alot. Population will effect the amount of military you can recruit and it will effect how much money you gain from your cities. If population is high and loyalty is low then there may be high chances of Peasant Revolts. If most of your population is military then your economy will suffer. Therefore balance your population and thier job and loyalty.

Loyalty.png

Loyalty: This goes by percentage. Most of it is explained in Population.

Education.png

Science and Technology: This will go by technologies. You must tell me what type of technologies you would like to research on and how much gpt you would like to spend. For Example: "I will start research on an Agricultural Technology to help Economy at 60%". Now every turn I will take 60% of your gold per turn and place it in your science spending. You can change this percentage at anytime, though it has to be at 10% integers. When I think that your scientific research has done its time I will announce that you have finished and what you researched and what is its effects. You can also make your own technologies and I will tell how long it will take.

Resources1.png

Resources: They are on the map and you can gain them by claiming them with your territory and colonies or by trading. Each resource has its benefits (ie> more gold or loyalty) and gain more money when trading in an outpost near them.

Armies.png

Armies: This is quite simple. There will be many different types of troops to buy and use to fight for your nation. They will gradually be available through technology. Each unit will be different and have advantages and disadvantages. You may sell your troops for any amount. And there are mercenaries out there that will probably sell troops to you at your outposts if you have any. Look at the "Armies" section.

Training: Training of your armies can only be done by fighting in battle, it is shown next to the army with a star and number, for example; "*5" .

Crusades.png

Crusades: Crusades can only be done with the permission of the Pope. It might also cost money that you will have to pay the pope for crusaders to use. Crusades can only be done on other cultures. Like Christians to Jews.

FYI: Ok, now I am opening this and I know it will stay alive as long as I live even if it's running with 1 person. I have spent many days on the rules and hope people join THOUGH you will probably have to get into this NES. So DO NOT join to quit the next day. If you do it with a very resonable reason then its fine though if not then you will not be welcomed. I will update about every 2-3 days depending on diplo or real life crisis. And last but not least, ENJOY!

Military of the World
The troops you can build in this game

Army
Peasants: They are very weak in attack and defense. Relatively slow, armed with farm tools and have a low morale. 500 for 2 gold.

Spearmen: They have a pretty good defense and a weak attack. Speed is moderate and armed with Bronze. 500 for 4 gold.

Archers: They are a ranged unit. Terrible in hand to hand combat. Slow movement and moderate morale (becuase they are away from heat of battle). 500 for 3 gold.

English Knights: They are lightly iron armored horsemen with a broadsword. Fast and strong. 20 for 5 gold.

Navy
Barque: Small and primitive ship. Easy to sink and not good for battle but can defens itself when attacked. 5 Ships for 3 gold.

You can gain better units and military through stealing from advanced enemies or allies or researching them through technology
