Recently after the fall of the Roman Empire, small stacks of people have joined together under a selected few of what they call "Kings". These men with high honor among thier people have dedicated themselves to the future of thier empire. Those small former provinces of the hieght of civilization have come above it as follows...
One of the first was the Byzantines. These people where on the brink of splitting from the Roman Empire until a man called Constantine spoke against it and overuled the decision. Now after the fall of the Empire his son, Constantine the Clever takes what was about to be the other half of the roman empire and will strive to be better than the rest. His first move is building a larger military and researching better military technologies. They also begin expanding though many mountains slow them down. The Byzantine people fear attacks from the surrounding Huns.
In the North Sea the English people of Wessex rise above the rest of the tribes in England and makes thier own nation under King Richard. He begins by increasing his army without the sense of needing it, luckily they do need it. And so the Anglo-Saxons attack thier holdings in Wessex with horsemen. The people also hear word of a Whelsh and Mercian people to the north.
The Macedonians have sprung apon the oppertunity as well and join under King Alexander. Thier people in hopes to make another Macedonian Empire which was under the old Alexander the Great wishs that it can be done peacefully. As a Macedonian army expands east and south they gain contact with the Byzantines and the Greeks. They now have the largest military in the world with little work, though the loyalty of the people decreases without a better culture. Thier people aswell fear an attack by the Huns and the Thracians.
In the Iberian Peninsula the Spaniards unite after being the first Roman Province and now free. Though problems come up in this premature nation. The long time foes, the Catalans have arisen aswell with an overwhelming force. They have traveled for many years looking for the Spaniard capitol and has found it. Thier invasions await, many bold Legionaries loose thier lives while many of thier armour becomes damaged.
In the European Mainland a man by the name of Charmaigne overides the recent Chieftain of France and joins the empire as the King of the people. Thier resources are valuable though threatened while the Germanic Barbarians of the east have invaded them. Many problems arise in France as the people worry of these fearsome people.
In north Africa on the ancient homelands of the Carthaginigans the Muslim Almohads arise as a major power in the continent. Stranded from the rest of the world, thier only problems under Abu Bakr is famine. Many villages and farming towns grow no crops for months and maybe years. Much of the population dies every year showing a significant problem. The Almohads try to reach Sicily for new sources of food though fail becuase of the fast currents of the Mediteranean and thier small ships. Four ships were sunk.
In the Balkans the Illyrics join together under King Scott. Thier people are content though without a major source of water for 30 years they begin to worry and die of famine. Mountains all around this land makes it hard to get water to the lands. Something needs to be fixed. Also the border watchers sense an attack by the Astrigoths and Visigoth Horsemen.
The Italians of the Italian Peninsula, the once homeland of the Roman Empire have found a way to help themselves out of the corruption of rebbellions in the time of the Fall of the empire and now face new problems. With the Papacy right on thier back they strain to do anything too stupid and so was attacked by the Germanic Tribes of the north. Thier resources are at major stake. And so the immediate need of troops on the front have limited thier expansion only by a few miles. Thier loyalty is very high though thier population has dropped do to the invasions.
In the most southern part of the Balkans the Greeks form thier own empire with thier former capitol and culture hot spot, Athens. Though thier people content at the moment, one year later a group of pirates of the Mediteranean form calling themselves the Philistines. They raide many parts of the small Greek nation and kill many people. The loyalty of the people quickly dropped.
